Recovery from bad quality contact (hostility, violations, suffocation, coldness, neglect), discovery of good contact and how to have more of it, and how to protect ourselves from unwanted contact. Getting in contact with ourselves. What do we want? What do we feel, deep down?
This is why touch in psychotherapy is so valuable.
Touch is the first experience we have of contact in our lives, and it remains the most satisfying contact of our adult lives, despite the dominance in our culture of words. Just as the wrong kind of touch can be so awful to bear, so the right kind of touch can be tremendously healing and validating.
I have trained at length in both normal talk Psychotherapy (Transactional Analysis) and Body Psychotherapy (Biodynamic), so whether in word, gaze, proximity or touch, I seek to contact you with understanding warmth, sensitive respect, and, when appropriate, joyful vitality. I am passionate about helping people, and I hope that I can help you with your important life-journey.
